Ron,

I forgot to comment on a receiving antenna.  I am planning to use a receive 
only loop for 160.  I believe ARRL Antenna Handbook has some.  Ted Hart 
wrote about loops there, and I have his book on loops.  You might try an 
Isotron antenna which is a small loop for receive and transmit, if you 
don't want to build one your self.  I don't really know how well it works 
as a receive loop on 160  (or even if it covers 160); maybe some others can 
comment on this.  OH4UN in his book on Low Band DXing has some data on 
receiving loops for 160 too.
