Hi Paul ,=0D
I always had good sucess with the old (what I called bulkhead type center
connectors) Believe they were sold by the original Hy-Gain Company and we
used they in the Military. They were very strong and look a bit like a
metal tri-angle with a zillion bolts and nuts around the edges. But they
were strong. =0D
=0D
Found a Page they still sell them (MFJ now owns Hygain) 29.95. you can l=
ook
at the manual on line at http://www.hy-gain.com/products.php?prodid=3DC-1=
=0D
=0D
Good Luck and let us know what you finally choose so others may know for =
the
future.=0D

Subject: [Antennas] 80m dipole center connectors?=0D
 =0D
I'm in the process of building 2 new 80m dipoles. At a height of 110' and=
=0D
125' respectively, they are at right angles to each other. Given I'm feed=
ing=0D
these with RG213, I wonder what suggestions I might gather from the group=
=0D
about the choice of center connector. I have some older (but brand new)=0D
Budwig units and a couple of 1:1 baluns. In each case, my concern is the=0D
weight of 110' of coax hanging on the connector. Your thoughts would be=0D
appreciated.=0D
