Yep --- you can .. but, however, the SWR will "swoop" from here to there as
the filament heats up. Back in the early / mid 60s, we used to use 500 watt
MAZDA base "blubs: ./ My first homebrew amp, a pair of 813s with a Collins
2000� VDC power supply, would make that thar blub SHINE .. on top of that 6'
17" rack.. and, when you got a newbie in the shack, it would impress them,
whilst using SSB, to no end. as you said "HELLOOOOOOOOO" !! That is what
got me going on my first amp! CBer early "dummy loads" were pilot lamps.
Not a very good impedance match, but good indication of the output device
worky worky!
