I'm curious (and confused) how this works.
My (naive) assumption would be that the feedpoint impedance is increasing
because the "ground" resistance is increasing from the shorter radials.
While obtaining a better match to 50 ohm coax, doesn't this just mean that
the antenna is less efficient due to the increased ground losses?
I could be way off base--it wouldnt' be the first time :-)
