The standard answer in the past was to buy a piece of coil stock that was
about 3 inches in diameter and about 8 inches long and wound with about #16
or larger wire, then use a small alligator clip to clip onto the proper
turn. Unfortunately, I don't know if this coil stock is still available. I
see a movile every once in a while that has done that. Plexiglass rod was
normally used to join the top and bottom sections. That was my first mobile
antenna for 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters.
