Hard wired means NO interruptions in the circuit..ie NO coax connectors as well as all the other things. This is rather hard to do with commercial rigs unless the rigs' built in tuner has a balanced input. Hence, the term is usually erronious and misleading, and Im not sure what purpose the term is meant to convey.
