I'd go with the old fashioned tank tuner with link coupling.   Roller
inductors not necessary, nor is any balun.  Lacking a split stator
capacitor, you can gang a pair of identical caps together.   See any ARRL
or Radio Handbook prior to 1960 for details.  I made my own tank coils
using #14X41 SIS switchboard wire on 2" PVC electrical conduit forms. 
Works great, again with no mismatched balun necessary.
