[Antennas] RE: need help with mobile hf mag mount

I am using an Outbacker Stealth plus on a minivan. It is on a tri mag =
mount with a quick disconnect and spring. I have an MFJ 945 tuner in =
line. I got the antenna to resonate where I wanted by tuning the small =
whip and having the 945 in by pass. I use the tuner to extend bandwidth. =
I have worked Europe consistently on 20 meters and up and check in =
regularly on the Maritime mobile net. Also have had numerous QSOs on 40 =
regionally. It hears great on 80 but have not transmitted on that band =
yet. I suspect the performance would be pretty bad. But I have had a =
great time with a simple set up and get consistent 57 and 59 reports. I =
guess the best thing is the old KISS method unless you want to go the =
screwdriver or bugcatcher route.=20
