Get rid of the ladder line OR cut it to a 1/2 (x velocity factor)..
it is acting as a xfmr......if you cut it to a 1/2wl (X VF), then it
will reflect the antenna's impedance at the balun...but WHY did you =

run open line anyway? If you plan to use a tuner with balanced out,
thats ok...but your current hookup has a serious impedance problem! :)
