Hi all,
I want to thank all who responded to my question regarding draining off
antenna static.
The majority concenses is to try a high resistance to ground off each
leg of the
balanced feed line with non-inductive resistors. (An rf choke MAY be
reactive at some frequencies) For those who asked,.... the tuner is
the 250w Johnson Matchbox, link coupling with no dc path to ground. A
torroid balun would have a path to ground, but I am one who won't give
up my link coupling for a torroid... hi A good suggestion was use
insulated wire but that would add weight and would cost more than a
couple resistors. The antenna and tuner work so well on all my favorite
bands that I don't
want to make any drastic changes.. A LOT of good suggestions !
Tnx "muchly" to: Ron W2WU, Joe WB9SBD, Eric WB6FLY, Dan N7BHB,
Mike AC5P, Clete WB2CPN, Bill W9ERG, and Dave W1MCE !
