I have a portable 44-foot dipole I use at QRP power levels when=
camping or when we visit my wife's family. Normally I feed it=
with 300 Ohm twin lead. Particularly when it's setup at=
someone's home it's sometimes difficult to run the twin lead so=
the match doesn't get messed up when running through doorways,=
laying on the ground, etc. From reading this thread and the=
 Antenna Book CD-ROM I don't see any reason that a small,=
lightweight feedline couldn't be made from RG-174 as long as the=
power levels are low enough that voltage and current isn't a=
problem. I have not heard of this being done and perhaps I'm=
missing something. Is this a practical technique for a portable,=
 balanced feedline?
