[Antennas] Return Loss Bridge Construction

Hello everyone,

I am very interested in building a return loss bridge to help with
antenna experimentation, especially in the VHF/UHF region. The
designs I'm interested in are at:

             http://www.qsl.net/n9zia/wireless/appendixF.html

under "return loss bridge" and "Antenna Analyzer"

The circuits are deceptively simple, so I am wondering how to
build a quality bridge with good directivity. There are some photos
at the link above, but they aren't really detailed enough.

Can anyone offer advice/resources for the sort of
construction practices that would need to be followed in order to
build a good bridge? I don't really have the $120 or so for a used
bridge much less the $300+ for a new one.

Of course, if anyone has other circuits they like PLEASE
send them along. I haven't found much beyond what I posted
above. I'm more interested in the resistive type rather that ones
that use a balun transformer.

I subscribe to the digest, so feel free to reply directly as well
as to the list. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

           Thanks!

            Dennis
