Dunno about the length...  but I have had GREAT results
using 18 to 22 ga teflon insulated wire.  It is available in
several colors, and blue or gray are very hard to see, makes
for a great hidden antenna.  The teflon also resists scuffing
on trees etc better than PVC insulation.
