Just came across this subject and the inquiry for comments.

Having just utilized the Electronic Vanity License application (Feb 23, 
2002) I found it to be extremely simple (after downloading the required 
applet).  The form was idiot proof and fast. It (form 605 was automatically 
followed by the form to make payment, again simple).

I can't say again how efficient, fast, simple the process was.  This is the 
way it should be on ALL government form fillings.

Please, Please make this the accepted method soon and for the future. No 
more snail mail. For those people without computers there are other sources 
available and all local government offices should have computers available 
to the public for filling purposes.
