I've seen a mild form of this first-hand.  I went to a car show with my son 
and they had a van there with an outrageous sound system.  I think there was 
about 5000 watts of power and some huge bass speakers ..... the sides of the 
van were pulsating with the beat.  Once I got within about 6 feet of the van 
my stomach started to cramp up and I felt nauseous.  That acoustic wave is 
powerful!
