I'll say something good about the CB shoot-out guys.

There is a heck of a lot of home-brew and mobile antenna
experimentation going on with these guys. Almost
hams from that point of view...

Fortunately, they are seldom on the air more than a few minutes
a month.

IMHO, the best approach when interacting with a CB fan is to
show what he is missing by not memorizing some Q&A pairs and
taking a test. One of the best CW ops, traffic handlers, and all around
conscientious and friendly hams I know, found his interest in radio
through CB. Oh yes, extra class, the old way...

Think of CB as analogous to a 'gateway drug', a little 'help' and you'll
have them hooked on the hard stuff!
