[Antennas] crossed field antenna?

Could someone pls explain how a CFA works? Websites I find offer rather =
scant data except one that wants me to pay a fee to read some articles. =
What I can tell thus far has piqued my interest however I must admit =
I've found so little data about the crossed-field antenna that I'm not =
entirely convinced this is not the leftovers from some April issue of  =
QST magazine. Am most grateful for any and all replies.
