I have a question for those who have experience putting up random wires...
I have two choices. My first choice is this. I can place a random wire out my window. It will be grounded immediately to a ground rod with the coax braid then the center conductor would go up vertical about 35 feet. The vertical section would be along side the house with aluminum siding. It would be about 3 feet from the house. Then at 35 feet, it would run horizontal for about 40-50 feet and up in the air around the 35 foot mark to a tree. The feed point would be at the ground level. The total length to be 85 feet.
The other idea is to use the aluminum siding as the ground. I would avoid the vertical wire running along the house and just use a horizontal section at 35 feet. The 40-50 feet of wire would cross the back yard and the aluminum siding would be attached to the coax braid with the feed point at the 35 foot mark. The total length to be 40-50 feet.
Question... which one is better?
