[Antennas] RE: horizontal vs vertical

Let's reframe this in another parameter ...

My 1 kw Dummy Load is VERY efficient ... but not very effective
as a radiator ... 

What we all want is an effective antenna ... or really an effective
signal at <you fill in the blank here> parameter.

For some, that will be a vertical with 120 0.4w length radials, for
others, on the same frequency band, say 3.8 mhz... it will be a 
dipole hung at 20' ... 

My point in the above example ? The vertical, in most cases will
be more effective for low angle radiation. The dipole for higher
angles of radiation ...

Back to my 1 kw Dummy Load here, it's efficient, but not effective
for what my expectations are as to the choice of antennas I use here.
