[Antennas] performance of 2 element yagi

I have finished putting up my Mosley TA32jr yagi, and
getting it tuned, etc. This is the older model, which
I purchased used. It does show a decent Front-side
ratio, and front-back ratio, but when compared to my
G5RV type dipole, the gain seems little over the
dipole. These tests were mainly done on 20 meters
into the far east, like JA and the BQ9P dxpedition.
THe gain did seem a little better with a couple of US
stations the other night. Have not really tried on 15
and 10 yet, as those bands have not contained alot of
activity the past couple of days.

Here is the mounting situation. The antenna is about
25 feet above ground, and about 3 feet above the
roof-on a tripod. Not the ideal setup, but the best I
can do for right now. Is this lack of gain to be
expected on 20 with such a setup? I am wondering if
it is worth it at all if it keeps performing about
equal to the dipole.

I replaced a MA5B with this yagi, thinking that the
full sized antenna would perform better. The MA5B did
a good job, but cannot remember exactly how much the
gain did over the dipole on 20-I really didn't do any
comparisons recently. Wondering if I made a mistake
by swapping antennas.
