OK, George.  Thanks for your comments.  I thought that there always was a
possibility of high voltages appearing at the input or output of a tuner
irrespective of the type of tuner.  I thought is was a function of the antenna
impedance and/or feed line length.  Admittedly, I haven't looked at the question
closely or explored all the possibilities.

>From a practical standpoint, I have been using end fed wires and L-matches for
years when operating portable.  Although I have been nipped by RF on occasion, my
experiences have been relatively trouble-free.  However, most of that experience
has been with rigs without internal tuners.
