Thanks for the link; it worked.  It says they are cast.  I eat crow now. I 
climbed in my cabinet with a flashlight.  I have 3 of them with various 
antennas.  They are Delta-2 branded, but are white instead of the gray as 
shown on the web site.  They have N connectors, and I remember I paid quite 
a premium for them years ago to replace an MFJ mult-position switch.

And all this time I was feeling somewhat smug in the belief they were 
machined cavities.  For what it's worth, I have lived through several 
intense south FL lightning seasons with nary a glancing blow from 
lightning.  (knocking on the wooden counter holding my crow.)
