Note with that arrangement that there is a complete path for the=20
transmitter's RF current (the antenna system's loop current) to flow. Bingo!
It all boils down to this. The =BC-wave matching section of a j-pole is=20
serving double duty. 1) it provides a method of matching the antenna to the=
=20
transmission line and 2) it is what the =BD-wavelength monopole section of=
=20
the j-pole is working against. The net result is the antenna works *nearly*=
=20
identical to a =BD-wave dipole but it is not a =BD-wave dipole or its=
radiation=20
pattern would also be identical to a dipole and it is not.
With that I am really exhausted on this subject and can really add nothing=
=20
more. If you disagree then we'll just have to agree that we disagree.
