[Antennas] 2 Meter Beam

Gentlemen,

I have a Cushcraft 11 element 2 meter beam that is about 30 years old. =
I replaced the hardware on it with s/s, and am looking to set it up for =
the FM portion of the band. In attempting to tune it up, I am finding =
that it appears that the antenna is designed for the ssb/cw band =
segment. The element lengths also are different from the modern =
Cushcraft designs in that there is a greater degree of taper from =
reflector last director - After the driven element, each director is =
1/2" shorter than the previous. The elements are also evenly spaced at =
about 14" on center.

My questions are: How does the higher degree of taper affect the =
antenna's pattern and performance?

Is this a decent antenna compared to more modern designs or should I get =
something new?

How would I go about raising the resonant frequency? Do I need to trim =
all of the elements? If so, would I trim the same amount off of each? =
How would I determine how much to trim?

Thank you for reading, and for any information that you can provide.
