[Antennas] Dual Purpose Mobile Antennas

I need to do something on our "family van" to equip it for 
HF Amateur Radio, without making it a porcupine like 
our other "radio" van.

I have been looking for information for modifying a BC-
power antenna for Ham use.  Anyone have a Web page 
or know of one that describes this?

I may have a power antenna that will fit in the existing BC 
radio hole, haven't pulled the fender to measure things yet.
The other option is to put something minimal on the driver's 
side, either a power antenna or a 7 foot whip -- tied down 
except when in use.

Suggestions, please?
