Roy Lewallen, W7EL made some measurements on 300-Ohm TV ribbon (Belden
8230) line. His report was published in the Technical Correspondence column
in February 1982 QST/ The upshot was that when wet the line loss increase
substantially. According to Roy when wet its losses were about twice that
of RG-58.
So if you live in a dry area -such as Tuson- it will be okay, however if
you live in a wet zone such as the Pacific north west to would not be a
good choice.
