hi folks  thanks to all who responded to my question about ft-1000d or
ic-756pro..  you were very helpful..  and several people indicated that they
had the same question and asked me to share  the results..  normally  when
one asks a question for comparison, we look for the negative comments about
a particular product..  in this case both rigs received fantastic
reviews...  looks like i will have to figure out how to end up with both..
