Can you remove one pane of glass and replace it with Lexan or some other
plastic?  This is what I have done .. have 7 coax feedlines and three
open-wire feedlines, all with feed-thru connections.

This is a fallacy .. depends on the bands you will operate, and the
length of the feedline as related to wavelength on those bands.  IF the
feedline length is a multiple of a quarter-wavelength on all bands, it
should work quite well.
