The one thing I feel Cushcraft should consider and the fact that so many lf
us hams are in a position to affect their commercial business. I been
watching this thread very closely and have come to the conclusion that
Cushcraft better think a little before blowing off the amateur community in
such a dastardly way.
My employer buys a ton of Cushcraft antennas... of course, no way are we the
biggest customer of theirs... but there is a ton of us commercial accounts,
with hams in senior level positions out there that do buy significant
quantities and we can influence the buying of antennas... enough of us start
looking elsewhere and they will feel it... I hope they don't challenge
this... it could be the kiss of death for them with a large number of
accounts. I have talked to one of my competitors (yep, competitor... but
friendly because we both are hams & active hams at that) and he also said he
has been watching this thread very closely and not saying anything... today,
we talked and I told him to be sure and take a look at his e-mail from the
reflector before going into the office on Friday... because he will see a
post of mine!
In the world we are in (2.4GHz ISM), there is a 'blue million' makers of
antennas for this band and I get calls every day... yes, every day, wanting
us to look at their competitive to Cushcraft products. Up until now, have
not paid much attention to them... now maybe I should!
Be damned if now I think maybe we will... don't service my hobby... then I
don't need you commercially!
Cushcraft, if you are reading this... I suggest you give me a call! All I
will do is mention our company name and you will know us! Cirronet, Inc. I
will not mention our normal Cushcraft contact but you know who you are!
Call me... not our Purchasing Group... that will damage your relationship
with us even more... or....
Guys, after I talk to them... will come back in a few days with a feeling
for the "temperature" of the water.

Perhaps a final thought:
If they treat the commercial market like they have treated the Amateur
market,
they won't last long with their alledged "customer service. Their obituary
should
be soon!
