Hi,
There is a very nice article on history of Yagi-Uda" in the
Oct 1993 issue of QST starting on page 45.
The original units were fixed type and the "steerable"
was invented by Dr. John Kraus, W8JK in the 30's.
This is info from the article.
Have just recently moved to NC and have a lot in boxes yet. I
did find a book, believe it or not, in a second hand book store
titled "Short Wave Projector". It was filed in the Photo section
and seemed to be overlooked by most as it is a book by Shintaro Uda.
It is subtitled "Historical Records of My Studies in Early Days".
It also has his card in it saying "With Author's Compliments"
In the book it mentions "So called "Yagi-Uda Antenna" was
invented in 1926, the basic studies on it are described in
Chapter 1 "Short Wave Projector".".
As time permits I will be doing some LITE reading..... HI....
