   I made 2 copper "J" pole antennas with an 8 foot copper coated steel
ground rod as the support rod, I had to solder a short nipple of the 1/2"
trade sized copper water pipe over it where the "T" was soldered it was
too small in diameter.  Same at the TOP where I always solder a pipe cap.
(the end where the steel core is exposed and would have split open)
