My bet is that  quality control on that batch ( or mixed batches)  was a 
little off.  No telling where the stuff comes from these days.  Or which 
alloy was used.   

For masts I use 1/4" wall thickness  6061T6 (hardened) alloy ..or something 
similar.    That stuff bends in the wind  but survived 25 years   with a  
204BA up 4 ft and  3 element duobander for 10-15M ten feet above that.  
Doesnt pay to  skimp on masts.
