[Antennas] using ladder line near mast ?? / cushcraft ma5v questions ??

HI AGAIN,
               Any suggestions on the following ?? the 450 ohm ladder line
feeder supplied with my full size g5rv  antenna, need to run this  feeder
down the length off the mast, but have been advised to keep this feeder
isolated from the actual mast, have thought about mounting the ladder line
within a long length off plastic piping, which would be itself attatched to
the mast length ?? any other suggestions ??

Also still looking for advice from anyone using the "cushcraft ma5v" hf
vertical antenna, basically looking for any tips / advice as far as  any
extra long term weatherproofing needed and also any  tuning tips ??
