Ron, all reactances have 'Q'. 'Q' is the ratio of energy stored,
1/2L*I^2, to energy lost, [I^2]*R. Therefore ALL Reactances have loss.
My tuner dissipates about 50-70 watts at 1KW input.
If you have a high power station with a tuner, connect to a 4 to 1 VSWR
and then put the key down at 1KW for 1 minute then touch the active
portion of the inductor ... it's warm!!! That's 0.22 dB of loss, in my
tuner, converted to HEAT.
