It's been a few years since I've thought of doing this and I just don't
remember the specifics.  I am moving my vhf/uhf collinear from a rooftop
tripod to my tower.  Right now there is one single piece of RG8 feeding it.
However, this isn't long enough to reach the top of the tower.

   You don't say how high your tower is, if the run will be over 100'
you should use 1/2" or 7/8" coax for any UHF antenna.
   The longer the bigger.
