I am also interested in this subject as to loss for using a barrel to connect coax
for my 2 meter rig. I am on a fixed income, and became a Ham about six months ago,
and must make-do with what I have.

Thanks.

It's been a while since I've dealt with this and I just don't remember the
answer. I need to move two antennas from a rooftop tripod to my tower.
They have been fed with approximately 70 feet of RG8 each. One of them is a
2 meter/70 centimeter collinear and the other is a six meter three element
yogi. How much would I lose going through connectors and a barrel which
would allow me to use RG8 lengths I already have as opposed to the expense
of new single runs of cable for each.

I'm not looking for a debate here, just some consensus as to what I might
lose before I take a run to the radio store tomorrow.

thanks much all and 73.
Kevin, K7RX :)
