WHOA ... be careful that doing such does not exceed the
specs for the tower ... when you start adding the high strength
masts/etc. ... Yes, the vertical height goes up ... but so does
the "bending moment/movement" on the tower structure. This
is even more critical as to "self supporting" towers. When you
start adding mast to extend the top antenna's height, the total
impact at the base may go outside the spec, and do this quickly !
That's why the use of "water pipe for a mast" often results in the
"bent over antenna picture" after a high wind. Water pipe is not
made for sure bending stresses ...
Taking the step to use a HS mast is always a good point (for any
setup), just be very careful you don't overload the tower in the
process ... the HD mast might survive, but the tower might not ...
