For my own interest, I calculated some zip cord that I
recently bought at Home Depot. THis is speaker type
wire with clear insulation. WIre size appears to be
#16.
My Autek RF1 shows the impedance to be about 105 ohms.
Loss on my particular piece was 4 dB/100' at 12 mHz,
and 6.4 dB/100' at 24 mHz. As lossy as RG174!
I don't think I'll be using this as a feedline.
However, if a lower loss zip cord is out there, it
would make an excellent TL for a delta loop and very
usable for Field Day.
