Some 160 m users are using Beverage antennas for receive. I don't think
they would be practicable for other bands because any reasonable height
would be too close to the ground (People and animals would trip over
them). Although design criteria would indicate for q60 meters, a height
of only 3 ft (1 m) the people using them use a height of 4 or 5 ft (1.3
to 1.4 m).
The beverage antenna was originally designed and use on LF and VLF (20
kHz to 300 khz) and the antenna height for those frequencies was 10 to
25 ft (3 to 7.5 m).
