I don't use amfone except I used to check it to see what was under
discussion, but I do recall that there was a lot of good information
there (a small amount contributed by me hi hi).  Some ham in PR named
Shane offered to take it over but I don't think he got anywhere.  The
owners seem inactive as hams for one or more reasons and appear to be
non-responsive.  These folks were never IT guys and it looked like
they got by for many years by patching the site instead of upgrading
the software on a regular basis, including the database.  I imagine
costs were also a problem.
