When I went to work for the FAA almost 50 years ago, we had a lot of very old test equipment that was used for checking AM mod percent. I looked up Benrus scope and nothing came up but an old amradio post, and it would not load, said had an error. My son found this cart at an FAA VORTAC site that was being shutdown, pic attached, and we have no idea what it might have been for, but the opening in the middle is just right for one of those old Dumont or Benrus scopes to hold it at an angle for easier viewing. The two support shelves above are also a mystery. These carts were made in KY in the early 1950's. Could find nothing about Benrus and them making o'scopes. We had Benrus and Dumont, both 5 inch scopes enclosed in a more high than wide cabinet. Does anybody have info on Benrus making scopes, or is it in the same category as Chanel making R390's?
