Charlie,

The attached may be the source of the PD circuit for SX-101. Looks 
like it was March 1965 issue of 73 or CQ. Just happened to Snip it 
one day and used it in my SP-600JX14.

The 6BE6 PD is a more common circuit. I use the N6PL version in the 
R390A as a PD. Don't know about the SX-100.
