The Copyright laws gained some additional teeth with the passing of the
Copyright Act of 1976 and then gained bigger teeth with the passing of
the Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Act of 1998.

AM Window still exists, http://www.amwindow.org/
Only the bulletin board (forum) was disabled.

As far as moderation on AMfone:
W2INR, Gary, was the Founder and Administrator from 2002 to 2011. He and
other Administrators defined the rules and regulations of the forum which
they felt would be in the best interest of "all" members. As moderators
(and I was/is part of that team), it was our position to follow those
rules and regulations that the Administrators set down for all members to
read and accept. Those rules are still posted under the main title "Using
AMfone" - "Rules and Regs".

Members move on for any number of reasons. AMfone, like a number of
forums that have been around for a number of years have a swinging door
that allows members to come and go for whatever reason. And. for those
that demanded control and no censorship, the moderator held the swinging
door open.
