Just as FYI for those who may not know - the "Mighty Elmac Net" has been
held on Wednesdays for quite a few years. It was started by N8ECR who
became a Silent Key five years ago, and continues as a memorial for
Mike, conducted by Rex WA6GYC in the Detroit area. During the period
when daylight savings time is in effect, the net is held at 8PM EDT (7PM
CST) on 3880 kHz, except for the first Wed. of the month when the CCA AM
Net is held. When standard time returns, the time shifts three hours
earlier, to 5PM EST (4PM CST) to take best advantage of propagation
across 8-9-Ø land and is held every week since it's over by the time the
CCA net begins.
Any AM station is invited to participate using any kind of radio
although the net provides a good opportunity to put Multi Elmac and
similar lower-powered AM rigs on the air. Typically at least a
half-dozen Elmac transmitters are on the net and they do a great job!
A pre-net roundtable is held as well, starting at least a half-hour
before net time.
