Has anybody successfully converted, or has info on converting, the Heathkit QF-1 from 455 KC to 262 KC? It uses a 1.5 to 3.0mh, and 120-150uh tunable inductors and you would think it would be an easy change out, but the main variable cap needs to be increased in size, along with the feedback caps. I have been experimenting with one, and have it running at about 370KC, but the tuning range narrowed from +/- 10KC at 455, to about +/- 4KC due to the tune cap not big enough. That will be the biggest issue I think, finding a suitable replacement, The one in the unit is only 100pf but has a integral shaft vernier drive.
