Does anyone have an interest in a restored R388? This one was restored by
Howard Mills and includes the modification of removing the BFO tube and
installing a product detector suitable for SSB. Restoration was in 2014
and it works fine. The radio has both the top and bottom covers. Included
in the package is a 270G3 speaker. The speaker, itself, has been changed to
a JBL speaker that is 16 ohms and has a transformer for 600 to 16 ohms
mounted in the speaker cabinet. There is a cabinet for the receiver, it is
not the specific cabinet for the radio. This one has a hinged door on top
for access the the chassis.

The calibration oscillator crystal in the receiver has drifted off just a
bit and will need to be changed for it to be exactly on frequency. The
equipment looks nice but is dusty, and I cannot see any blemishes on the
panel of the radio. There are a few scuff marks on top of the cabinet and
the speaker has, what appears to be, one small place on one side. The
chassis of the radio is not dusty much, and compressed air should take the
dust off. The mute relay has been removed and and the "Remote" terminal
strip has been modified to provide mute on transmit. You will use and
external relay to make that work.

If anyone is interested, send me a message. I can send pictures. This is
located in Southern Oklahoma and pickup is best. I do not have satisfactory
materials to ship, so if you want it, I will have to take all to a
professional packing and shipping location.

73,

Jim
