We’ll said Bill, and I couldn’t agree more! I sent this earlier but I’m not sure it left my email server!

“I fall in the category of those that don’t post much, however I do read what others post and I enjoy it. There are few places where one can go for this AM related information so those of us that enjoy AM appreciate this forum. I have no idea what kind of time and effort it takes to run something like this, so I cannot comment on that area. As a few others pointed out, I have absolutely no use for Facebook either! I think most of us here fall into the “Old geezer” category but where else can one get the kind of information that’s offered here. We all know how Amateur Radio has changed in recent years and some of it is not for the better. This forum represents what Ham Radio should be; Educated operators pursuing their hobby through building and experimenting. So much of that had been lost! I have nothing against modern technology such as computers and the like, but I’m partial to the RF side of Radio and so much of that has been lost today. I haven’t been on the air in quite some time with my personal Equipment due to having lost my antenna farm in a Storm. At age 72, I’m not sure if I will ever get back in operation. Being a Broadcast engineer and having worked in the industry for years, I’ve managed to procure some very desirable pieces of gear and just cant seem to let it go. I’m retired but I do still take care of the engineering for one of the few commercial Shortwave Radio Stations operating in the US.
I could go on, but for my 2 cents, I think this forum is unique and would like to see it continue”.

I have been involved in amateur radio for 63 years and when I hear some new "passed the test by memorizing answers" ham tell me I am off frequency when I call CQ because my transmitt frequency does not end in 00 or 05, I dispare. Occasionally I do find someone who can actually hold a intelligent conversation, usually an older ham.
