On the AM net down here in 4 land this morning, a fellow mentioned being scammed by an ad on the QTH.com classifieds.  It appears someone set up his QTH account using a callsign he researched on QRZ, looking for those with low lookups, and no email.  From there he set up his email using that call.  When the fellow bought the small item he was after, the seller requested friends and family payment on PayPal.  Turns out, the money went overseas, something he did not find out until he questioned the extra $5 charge on PayPal which is for overseas payment.  Paypal will not recover friends and family payouts, so he is out $105.  So, any seller online, maybe double check them on QRZ for lookups and a valid email, and contact them direct to make sure it is not a scammer.
