Well, I was figuring on AM only on 10 with the conversion, I think there is only 10KC between those channels anyway in a stock CB so I guess I could get close to someone calling CQ. AM used to be shooed up above 28.7 back when I used it a lot in the late 60's and early 70's, SSB gear usually only had one 10 meter crystal from the factory for 28.5 to 29, except for Collins where I think they did not operate above 28.7 with their 200KC chunks of spectrum per crystal, so all the SSB was in that 200KC. I do not recall ever making an AM contact above 29 back then, I would have to dig out the logs. Exclusively AM and CW, Worked Brits and Australians with that DX60, the band was wide open back then and when you ran out of west direction contacts, you swung the beam aruond and waited an hour or two for all the east direction contacts to start rolling in if long path to the west was not working. Also, I know of know AM restriction on any band in the part of the bands that allow voice, so if there is an AM restriction in the 10 meter Novice/Tech voice band, it would be news to me. As to AM amongst the SSB crowd, I used to run my DX60 on 20 meters and the main complaint I got was that I had some carrier leaking through, back in the days of Swan and homebrew gear where you nulled the carrier with the front panel carrier pot.
