[AMRadio] Are we doomed?

 Rob,
I remember Rick, K8MLV/0 in Pueblo, Co.. Ozona Bob, W5PYT would break in over Rick who was filibustering, Bob would say, "the weaker the signal the longer they talk!" It was true, in that after 10-20 minutes, the adjacent stations would come closer and essentially occupy the frequency. Then Bob would come on with the Tek-Rad, and the Turnstile antenna up 300' on one side and about 150' on the other side. Boy, Bob would kick the hornets nest! Sometimes I'd be tuned to the SSB stations waiting for their reply when Bob came back on. I specifically recall one station saying he threw his headset across the room when Bob's carrier came on.
Rick, K8MLV/O never changed, and became a SK before his time.

Hi Jim; I don't want to get into an argument as I am certain you speak
of honest experience.  However, like many folks in continuous duty
modes, you left out one key bit of information:  transmission time.
If you have no trouble with the tuner after a 30 minute transmission
then I stand corrected.  But I have a hunch you'll see impedance match
creep at about the 15 minute mark if not sooner at 350 watts carrier.
